LOCAL RENEWABLES CONFERENCE SERIES

Local Renewables 2010 is part of a series of events which began in June 2007 in Freiburg, Germany, focusing on "Powerful local action for secure and sustainable energy in Europe" followed by the conference in April 2009 on “Urban policy and planning for the post-carbon age”, taking place in Freiburg as well.

The “Local Renewables” series aims mainly at:

• encouraging communities to switch to renewable energy sources – thereby accelerating local action as a powerful contribution towards sustainable development world-wide;
• showing trend-setting ideas and approaches in reducing energy consumption in cities and towns.

These conferences represent an outstanding opportunity to exchange on the importance of sustainable energy solutions - addressing innovative ideas, proven methods and technologies, as well as presenting successful projects in the field of renewable energy, energy savings and energy efficiency solutions.
